Installing a bath shower screen is very doable if you're handy with a bit of DIY and have the correct tools, but if you're not confident we would recommend hiring a professional so make sure everything is fully secure and watertight to keep it working to the highest standards.

Choosing the right shower screen and size for your bath might feel confusing at first, but a few easy steps can guide you in the right direction.

Start off by measuring the length of the bath edge where the screen will go and height available above the bath. Most standard bath screens are 700-900mm wide, but make sure you measure the bath edge and pick a size that is 10-20mm smaller so it fits comfortably. You might want a taller screen if you have a powerful shower and want less splashing, however most screens are 1400-1500mm tall so decide what fits best.

Next you should decide what type of shower screen you need whether that's a fixed panel, hinged, folding or a bi-fold. As well as if you want a frameless or framed bath screen with a left or right hinge. The options may seem overwhelming but mostly it is just down to your style preferance.

Almost any bath can have a shower screen, but there are important factors to check before buying one as it isn't completely universal. Bath screens come in a variety of shapes to fit straight edged, P-shaped and L-shaped baths so you should match it accordingly. As long as there is at least one straight edge with a wall that the bath screen can attach to then most (but not all) fixed or folding screen can work.
